Brick City Grill announced via Facebook that their last day of business was Saturday. According to the Ames Tribune, the restaurant is closing due to recent financial struggles.
Brick City Grill was a family-friendly upscale sports bar. It had a variety of American cuisine and a large selection of burgers. It was most recently voted the Best Burger by the Best of Story County Community Choice Awards in 2023. They opened in 2013 and recently moved two years ago to 2640 Stange Road in Ames.
Brick City Grill had a welcoming environment with quick and attentive service. Televisions covered the walls, making it a great place to watch Iowa State games. There was an expansive bar off to the side surrounded by various seating options.
During its time, Brick City Grill received many raving reviews about their food. In 2021, Jonie Fitz wrote in a review on Tripadvisor, “New location is larger, but the food remains the same quality. If you order a side salad expect a regular size salad. Brick City does not disappoint.”
The Brick City Grill team shared the struggle to make the decision to close after over 11 years in business.
“After many amazing years of serving up great food, cheering on our favorite teams and sharing unforgettable memories with all of you, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our doors,” according to a Facebook post from their account.
Brick City Grill shared their appreciation for the Ames community.
“This journey wouldn’t have been possible without you…from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this amazing chapter,” according to their Facebook post.
Their post was well received and received many praises from social media users who had enjoyed their time there.
The post invited invited the Ames community to come in to Brick City Grill one last time before they closed Saturday to enjoy their favorite meal, watch their favorite teams and share stories and memories made within its walls.
