Preseason All-American team season is here!

The most wonderful time of the year started off Tuesday morning, with Athlon Sports announcing its four-team All-American list on Twitter.

Among those named to the teams were two Iowa State players: senior cornerback Brian Peavy and junior running back David Montgomery. 

Peavy was named to the third team at cornerback, pairing up with Notre Dame corner Julian Love. Peavy was the only Big 12 defensive back named by Athlon on any of the four teams, and one of only two Big 12 defensive players to make any of the teams. 

Montgomery was named a fourth-teamer at running back along with Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson. Oklahoma state running back Justice Hill was named a third-teamer in a playmaking role.

Overall, 11 players from the Big 12 were selected, fewer than any other Power 5 conference.
