The Cyclone men’s golf team was named the No. 10 seed in the Stockton Region today. The postseason berth marks the fifth time out of the last seven seasons the Cyclones have advanced past the regular season.

A fourth-place finish at the Big 12 Tournament ignited the late season momentum after Iowa State defeated No. 11 Baylor, No. 14 Texas Tech, No. 32 TCU and No. 41 Kansas.

“It’s possibly as rewarding of an accomplishment I have had as a coach,” said coach Andrew Tank regarding the NCAA Regional berth. “To be able to accomplish this with a mediocre start to our season says a lot about our team.”

“We really rallied together, and the guys deserve all the credit for sticking with it.”

The fourth-place finish at the Big 12 Tournament was the second-best finish in school history. Overall, the Big 12 qualified seven other teams to the NCAA Regionals.

Leading the Cyclones into the Stockton region will be senior Denzel Ieremia and freshman Lachlan Barker. Barker has leapt out to a dominate start to his college career, averaging 72.07 strokes per round.

Meanwhile, Ieremia is second on the team with a 72.13 stroke average, earning him the No. 114 ranking from Golfweek.
