Iowa State redshirt freshman forward Cameron Lard received a municipal infraction because he was in AJ’s Ultra Lounge early Saturday morning and he’s under the 21-year-old age limit, according to Ames Police commander Geoff Huff. Travis Hines from the Ames Tribune was the first to report this story.

Huff said the infraction occurred at 1:38 a.m. Saturday and Lard was released on site. The infraction has a fine of $185 and Lard can either pay the fine or request a trial, Huff said.

Iowa State men’s basketball head coach Steve Prohm and the Iowa State athletics department declined to comment, according to an ISU spokesperson.

Lard was charged with speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia in February. The possession of drug paraphernalia charge was dismissed and Lard pleaded guilty to speeding, resulting in a fine of $108, according to online records.

Lard played in 29 games last season for the Cyclones, starting 16 contests. He averaged 12.6 points per game and led the team with 8.1 rebounds per game. He also led the Cyclones with 63 blocks in 26.4 minutes per game.
