Iowa State beats University of Iowa 4-2.

University of Iowa got on the board early. In the top of the first the Hawkeyes had a two-run lead after a 2-RBI single from their senior outfielder Angela Schmiederer.
The early lead was not enough for the Hawkeyes.
The Cyclones tied the game in the bottom of the second inning. Taylor Nearad hit a 2-RBI double scoring Nychole Antillon and Sally Woolpert. Nearad leads the team in doubles and tied the game 2-2 with her fifteenth double of the season.
Iowa State took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Sydney Stites scored an unearned run on an error by Iowa’s pitcher. The score was 3-2 in favor of the Cyclones.
The Cyclones scored another run in the bottom of the third. Kaylee Bosworth hit a sacrifice fly to score Sally Woolpert. Iowa State took a 4-2 lead.
A complete game from senior right-handed pitcher Emma Hylen helped Iowa State win against in state rivals University of Iowa.
She pitched seven innings giving up two runs on five hits. Emma gave up two walks and had two strikeouts. The win moved her record to 10-9 this season.
The Cyclones beat the Hawkeyes 4-2.
Iowa State will resume Big 12 action against Baylor this weekend at home.
