Members of Iowa State’s Dub-H Hip Hop club were dreaming with their eyes wide open on Saturday night during their Spring semester showcase “Come Alive”. The performance was full of creativity and excitement as each member showcased what they have been working on all semester.

The showcase was emceed by two Dub-H and Iowa State alumni, Dan Rotert and Cody Michael, who kept the audience on their toes between performances, and even hosted a ‘Dance Dad’s Dance off’ between two dads in the audience.

Throughout the night each Dub-H choreographer showcased the dance they have spent all semester teaching to their dancers. There were total of 22 dances in which a variety of the 227 club members participated.

Each dance portrayed the choreographer’s style and personality. There were fun renditions on popular dance moves along with some pretty sweet song mash-ups.

The club even has a traveling dance team called Innovation, in which members try out and are then selected, that performed just after intermission.

The entire performance was incredibly fun to watch as the dancer’s oozed creativity and love for music and dance alike. As the evening wrapped up in Ames City Auditorium, the entire club came out by class, ending with the graduating seniors.

The finale included an announcement of 2018-2019 club cabinet members, along with a heart-warming video dedicated to the seniors. It was an honor to watch the performance and experience the diversity and immense amount of love that the Dub-H club has to offer.
