Kappa Sigma has been sanctioned for the misuse of alcoholic beverages and controlled substances. The sanction, dated April 24, is the second sanction against the fraternity this semester.

In January, Kappa Sigma had six violations including the misuse of alcoholic beverages, hazing, public disorder, endangerment, damage to property and violation of conditions of recognition. Their probation, which was slated to end December 21, 2018, has now been extended through May 11, 2019.

According to the Office of Student Conduct, Kappa Sigma will be required to host an alcohol and drug education workshop by October with a 90 percent attendance, and report on the creation of a live-in house director by August.
