Expressing affection for your romantic partner is completely normal, and frankly, it’s expected. Daily reporter Savanna Pardekooper talked to Iowa State students about their thoughts on public displays of affection and unconventional way’s people express their feelings.

PDA: Yes or no?

Public displays of affection range from holding hands to behavior that would make a porn star blush. So when does PDA go too far? The Iowa State Daily asked current and former Iowa State students to share their opinions on public displays of affection.

“I’m fine with minimal PDA kisses in public, but when it changes from kisses to make-out then I’m like ugh. One time a friend of mine started making out with a girl right next to me in the stands of a concert it was so awkward I had to move away,” said Calvary Tutson, senior in hospitality management.

Unconventional Ways People Show Affection

“Unconventional ways of showing affection for me are just reminding your partner you appreciate the little things they do,” said Michaela Corkery, senior in hospitality management. “If it’s making coffee in the morning or hanging your towel up after a shower, the things we take for granted are the things we should thank your significant others for most.”
