Iowa State falls 2-0 to UNCG on final day of Kickin’ Chicken Classic

The Cyclones took the mound today with junior right-handed pitcher Savannah Sanders. Sanders pitched the entire game only giving up two runs. She ended the day with four strike outs.

UNCG scored its only runs in the second inning with a two-RBI single. These runs would be the only runs of the game.

Iowa State had their chances but it could not capitalize. The Cyclones left several runners stranded and were unable to score.

The Cyclones had two runners on second and third with two outs in the sixth inning but were unable to bring them home. They finished the Kickn’ Chicken Classic with two wins and three losses. Iowa State will travel to Las Vegas next weekend for the Marucci Desert Classic.
