Iowa State defeats Creighton 4-0

Iowa State defeated the Creighton Bluejays 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in Lincoln, Nebraska. 

The Bluejays started strong in doubles, taking the lead with a 6-1 victory at the No. 3 spot from Epperson/Lavalle. Creighton couldn’t keep the momentum, falling short at the No. 2 spot with a 6-1 defeat as well as a 6-4 loss.

Singles: 

No. 1: Maty Cancini and Ashley Ishimura went unfinished at (CU) 6-7, 1-0. 

No. 2: Regina Espindola and Michaela Henne (CU) went unfinished at 3-6, 6-4. 

No. 3 Erin Freeman and Erin Epperson went unfinished at (CU) 3-6, 1-5.

No. 4 Ekaterina Repina defeated Claire Embree (CU) 6-2, 6-3.

No. 5 Margarita Timakova defeated Celine Massereau (CU) 6-1, 6-4.

No. 6 Annabella Bonadonna defeated Kendra Lavallee (CU) 6-1, 6-0.

Doubles:

No. 1: Cancini/Epsindola defeated Ishimura/Henne (CU) 6-4.

No. 2: Freeman/Bonadonna defeated Embree/Massereau (CU) 6-1.

No. 3: Repina/Timakova were defeated by Epperson/Lavallee 6-1.

Iowa State will face Nebraska and Omaha tomorrow starting 10 a.m.
