UPDATE: Cyclone defensive lineman arrested on OWI charges; suspended from team

Per an Iowa State spokesperson, Kamilo Tongamoa has been suspended from the football team due to a violation of the Student-Athlete Code of Conduct policy.

Iowa State redshirt senior defensive lineman Tongamoa was arrested Sunday on four different charges, including one count of OWI, according to CIP2C.com and a Sheriff Story County Jail representative.

The other charges include striking an unattended vehicle, failure to have valid license or permit while operating a motor vehicle and failure to prove security against liability.

Per the Story County jail inmate roster, Tongamoa was held in Story County jail on a $1,900 bond. He was booked at 2:38 a.m. Sunday morning and was released later in the day.

Tongamoa played in four games for Iowa State in 2017, registering one tackle. Before that, Tongamoa played two years at Merced Community College in Merced, California.
