Iowa State coach Matt Campbell received his first commit of the class of 2019 today with the addition of offensive lineman Jake Remsburg from Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Remsburg is a 290-pound lineman that was named to the Des Moines Register’s All-Iowa Elite Team.
Iowa State was one of the first schools to grab his attention in the recruiting process. The Cyclones weren’t the only team though that contacted Remsburg.
In-state rival, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and Big 12 rival, the Kansas Jayhawks, were a part of his interests, according to 247sports.com. Iowa State was his one and only offer at the time, but Remsburg decided to act early and accept his offer to play for the Cyclones.
After Remsburg’s announcement this morning, Campbell showed his excitement via Twitter saying, “Powerful addition to our future! Homegrown excellence and great leader! Couldn’t be more fired up!”
