Women’s Empowerment and Leadership conference comes to Iowa State
November 3, 2017
WE Lead will bring together members of the Central Iowa community to participate in a women’s empowerment and leadership conference Saturday.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the ISU Alumni Center, students and female leaders alike have the opportunity to network, engage in interactive discussions and reflect on their own leadership qualities.
Vanessa McNeal, Davenport native, will speak at 9:30 a.m. McNeal’s latest hour-long documentary, “The Voiceless,” addresses sexual abuse. McNeal herself is a survivor of sexual violence.
Topics covered will include empowering yourself as well as others, resilience and self-care. The event is a collaboration between The Student Activities Center, Margaret Sloss Women’s Center, Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE), the ISU Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship and the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics.
