In July 2015, Madison O’Neill, a junior in graphic design, tweeted that she needed a date to a wedding. Charlie Dorhmann, who knew O’Neill from high school, answered that call. 

The result? A little over two years of dating and a proposal in San Diego. Their story later went viral on Twitter, with all of social media in disbelief that all of this resulted solely from a direct message exchange on Twitter.
