Iowa State women’s golf finishes eighth in first day

The first day of the Windy City Collegiate Championship in Highland Park, Ill. concluded today, and the Iowa State women’s team is in eighth place with at total score of 876. In the first round Iowa State scored a total of 290, second round a score of 286, and finally to end the tournament today the Cyclones ended the third round with a score of 300.
Arizona State is currently in first place with a total score of 853. In second place Oklahoma State with a score of 856, and in third place is Michigan State with a score of 866.
The current team above Iowa State is Purdue which finished the day with a score of 874.
Senior Celia Barquin has a total score of 221 and is tied for ninth place. On the first round Barquin scored 13 birdies and five bogeys. During the second round Barquin scored two eagles, 12 birdies, three bogeys and only one double bogey. In the 3rd round Barquin stayed consistent scoring 13 birdies, six bogeys and only two double bogeys.
Senior Nattapan Siritrai has a total score of 233 and is tied for 67th place. On the first round, Siritrai had a great first round scoring 13 birdies along with six bogeys. On the second round, Siritrai scored nine birdies and nine bogeys to finish the second the round. On the third round, Siritrai finished with nine brides and eight bogeys to finish her day at the tournament.
Junior Chayanit Wangmahaporn leads the Cyclones in scoring with a total score of 215 through all three rounds. Wangmahaporn is tied for ninth place and averaged 14 birdies and only five bogeys throughout the first round. During the second round, Wanmahaporn score 14 birdies along with five bogeys. In the third round, Wangmahaporn scored 14 birdies, three bogeys and only one double bogey.
Sophomore Amelia Grohn has a total score of 219 and is tied for 20th place. In the first round Grohn scored a total of 75 points which consisted of, one eagle, 11 birdies, three bogeys, two double bogeys, and one triple bogey. In the second round, Grohn scored a total of 73 which included one eagle, ten birdies, six bogeys and only one double bogey. On the third round, Grohn scored a total of 71 which included two eagles, twelve brides and five bogeys to finish her day at the tournament.
Freshman Alanna Campbell has a total score of 224 and is tied for 43rd place. In the first round, Campbell scored a total of 75 which included twelve birdies, three bogeys and two double bogeys. In the second round, Campbell scored a total of 72 points which included, one eagle on one of the early holes, twelve birdies, three bogeys and two double bogeys. On the third round, Campbell scored a total of 77 points to finish her day at the tournament which included, eight birdies, nine bogeys and one double bogey.
The final day of the Windy City Collegiate Tournament concludes tomorrow afternoon.
