Early this afternoon, Nebraska athletic department fired athletic director Shawn Eichorst due to a lack of on-field performances. The decision was made on Wednesday and Eichorst was informed Thursday. 

Later this afternoon, there were rumors on different types of social media saying Iowa State’s athletic director Jamie Pollard was a candidate for Nebraska’s open spot.

Pollard denied he was a candidate for the Nebraska job. Pollard is in his 13th year as the Iowa State athletic director.
