September 27, 2017
The Iowa State football team had a late Tuesday night when Dallas Taylor-Cortez verbally committed to become a Cyclone.

The 6-foot-3 cornerback is ranked in the top-100 nationally for his position. He’s from West Hills, California, and had a west coast list of schools with Arizona, BYU, New Mexico, Utah, Hawaii, Washington State and Wyoming, but decided to come to the Midwest.
Around 11 p.m. last night, coach Matt Campbell tweeted out saying “Great end to the night.”
Great end to the night! Character, toughness, and playmaking ability leading the future of our Defense! #RaiseTheStandard #Cyc18neSquad pic.twitter.com/ZpLNtDrQOk

Taylor-Cortez will be the third commit from the Los Angeles area as Re-al Mitchell and Josh Madison have already verbally committed to Iowa State. With Taylor-Cortez committing, that’s the 16th commitment for Iowa State in the 2018 class.
