For those of you looking for a unique, out there experience in the arts, look no further than ArtRAGEous.

Even before the show began the art had started. The Iowa State Workspace provided tile painting in front of the auditorium, providing guests of all ages interaction with the arts before the show. You were allowed to keep you masterpiece, and children were thrilled.

One of the main components to ArtRAGEous is audience participation. Actors came down into the audience to grab volunteers to show off their dancing abilities. The audience fell in love with the children (in age or in spirit) who danced with the artists.

ArtRAGEous handed out inflatable guitars and microphones the audience as well. Actors brought the volunteers on to the stage, creating an inflatable rock and roll band. The audience left in their seats were laughing, enjoying the performance just as much as the people on the stage.

Then ArtRAGEous devolged their secret to true artistic inspiration: bubble wrap. Having handed out the mysterious bubble wrap before the show, ArtRAGEous lead the audience in a bubble wrap stomp that had even the elderly members on their feet.

the beginning of act two didn’t have the audience on the stage, but a black light dance sequence had the everyone ooing and ahhing. Adults were discussing if there were really four people on the stage, or were there two? Even though the audience wasn’t directly involved, ArtRAGEous had them captivated.

At the end of the show, the paintings were donated to the auditorium. People were allowed on stage for a meet and greet with the performers and a closer look at the masterpieces created during the show. The actors stayed and discussed the different artistic techniques as well as took pictures.

Audience interaction wasn’t the only part of this show that was ArtRAGEous. the music performed spanned from Bruno Mars to Frank Sinatra. There was a tune for everybody in the audience to enjoy, commonly making the audience stand up and dance along with the actors.

The art was intriguing. Not only were the paintings of well known icons, the composition used negative space to create depth in the images. One artist even painted Albert Einstein upside down. You never knew who was going to be painted until a minute before the composition was complete.

Over all, the show was a journey through the arts, including audience involvement that made everyone stand on their feet. If you want to experience ArtRAGEous, be prepared to get involved in the show in one way or another. No matter your taste in the arts, ArtRAGEous has something for you.
