Iowa State picked up its first recruit of the 2018 class Tuesday night when four-star recruit Zion Griffin committed to the Cyclones, according to 247Sports.

The Illinois native is rated as the No. 58 player in the country, and one of the best recruits in Illinois.

The 6-foot-6-inch small forward chose Iowa State over Pittsburgh, Illinois State and Kansas. Griffin averaged 17.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game as a junior last season at Hinsdale South as a center.
