Police ask for the public’s help in identifying burglary suspect

The Ames Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who burglarized an Ames pharmacy early Monday morning.

Ames Police responded to an intrusion alarm at NurCara Pharmacy around 4 a.m. Monday, and found that the suspect had gained entry and taken an unknown amount of pharmaceuticals. An Ames Police detective arrived shortly after and processed the scene.

“Our concern is going to be for the painkillers, the opioids, stuff like that,” Ames Police Commander Geoff Huff said.

Police hope that someone will recognize the suspect due to the distinctive hoodie shown on security camera footage.
