Former Iowa State linebacker Jacob Knott arrested for theft

Former Iowa State linebacker Jacob Knott was arrested in Polk County on Saturday, August 26 for third degree theft, according to Polk County Arrest and Jail Information.
Knott was recorded on video, on Aug. 22, stealing three gun holsters, a gun light and a laser light from Sportsman’s Warehouse, a sporting goods store in Ankeny, said Des Moines Register reporter Angela Ufheil. On Aug. 26, Knott stole a 9mm, a headset and a keychain at the same location. All of the items stolen were valued at $777.39.
Knott is scheduled to appear at court on Sept. 5, according to Iowa Courts Online.
The former Iowa State linebacker played for the Cyclones from 2009-2012. The Waukee High School native was named All-Big 12 First Team in the Associated Press in 2011 and 2012.
He is ranked sixth all-time on Iowa State’s all-time tackles list with 347 tackles.
Knott was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He played in 12 games his rookie season, but was suspended four games in 2014 after being tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs.
After getting cut by the Eagles, the Miami Dolphins signed him. Knott played one game with the Dolphins and was later released in the 2015 season.
