With new leadership this academic year – both in the student senate and the Iowa State administration – the Senate will hear from Interim President Ben Allen during Wednesday’s meeting.

New business will also be introduced, including a resolution to increase the Memorial Union student fee, a resolution in support of Campustown security cameras and a resolution requesting a mental health statement on course syllabi.

Other new business includes a $34,000 request for funding for a SafeRide driver for the Iowa State Police Department and a $408 request in funding from the Food Recovery Network for reusable food bins.

Senate meetings are weekly and open to the public. Wednesday’s meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the Pioneer Room of the Memorial Union.
