Ames will be a fun place to be this weekend with a variety of music, food, and learning experiences for attendees to take part in.
Friday Aug. 11
Water Day
Reiman Gardens
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Free Admission to Everyone
Reiman Gardens Water Day is a kids event with water games, activities, crafts, and music from WaterRocks. Shoes will be required, as well as, swimsuits and towels. There is no preregistration required.
Story Theater Company workshop and fundraiser

Central Iowa native, herb grower, and botanical dye expert Maggie Howe comes to Reiman Gardens to how to make a canvas tote and a cotton handkerchief/scarf inspired by plants. All materials included.

The Hoggatt School will be open for visitors to participate in hands-on activities to learn more about the Hoggatt School.
Walk-in Argentine Tango

$35 for five punches – Iowa Students, $45 for five punches – General Public
Valerie Williams comes to the Memorial Union workspace to teach dancers of all levels the Argentine Tango.
