PHOTOS: G-Nome Installment

One of the new 400 pound metal G-Nomes is lifted to the top of the Molecular Biology building, during the early morning of July 24. After being on the Molecular Biology building since 1992, the old terracotta G-Nomes were crumbling, and needed to be replaced.

400 pound metal statues were hoisted to the top of the Molecular Biology building this morning to replace the crumbling terracotta statues that have stood there since 1992. The same artist, Andrew Leicester, who created the original statues, created the four new G-Nomes built from stainless steel, and painted, to look like the former statues. Photos by Max Goldberg
