This is another summer weekend with lots of musical events to enjoy, hopefully in the shade. From the musical, ‘An American In Paris’ to Elizabeth Zimmerman playing at the Ames Mainstreet Farmer’s Market, there’s a lot of musical talent to be enjoyed this weekend.

Enjoy the musical talents of Ames native and Iowa State graduate, “Elizabeth Zimmerman,” as well as the talented “Harlan Thomas,” all while shopping for varieties of homegrown foods, bakery items, and hand crafted pieces.

Learn about one-room schools, while doing hand-on activities while visiting the Hoggatt School.
Walk-in Argentine Tango
The Workspace, Memorial Union
4:00 pm. to 7:00 p.m.
$35 for five punches – Iowa Students, $45 for five punches – General Public
Valerie Williams comes to the Memorial Union workspace to teach dancers of all levels the Argentine Tango.
Brother Trucker
Roosevelt Park, 7 p.m.
Brother Trucker comes to perform at Roosevelt Park for Roosevelt Summer Sundays Concert series.
