Iowa State picked up a women’s basketball transfer from Tennessee on Wednesday.

Alexa Middleton, a 5-foot-9 guard from Nashville, Tennessee, will have to sit out the 2017-18 season due to NCAA transfer rules. She will be eligible for the 2018-19 season.

Middleton averaged 8.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game as a junior for the Lady Vols. She also hit a team-high 42 3-pointers in 2016-17 while making 38.9 percent of her attempts from long range.

Middleton will likely be asked to help replace the production of senior Emily Durr. Durr, a sharpshooter who nailed 56 3-pointers last year, averaged 8.6 points per game as a junior in 2016-17 and will exhaust her eligibility next season.
