“On a windy day like this, it’s best to find some company.”

A plane roared overhead. One street down, a train clanked past. A group of men in jerseys, with sunglasses strapped to their heads under helmets, races down Ames’ Main Street. They’re competitive cyclists, and they’re here for the Ames Grand Prix.

It wasn’t just men’s races throughout the day. There was a women’s race, two junior races and two kids races.
