Iowa State won its fourth consecutive game in a 1-0 victory over Kansas Friday afternoon.

Emma Hylen started in the circle for the Cyclones and had a strong outing. Kansas didn’t get its first hit until there was one out in the fifth inning.

Hylen racked up seven strikeouts and thanks to an errorless defense, Iowa State completed a shutout.

Kansas managed just two hits and one walk in seven innings against Hylen.

In the bottom of the seventh, catcher Kaylee Bosworth singled to lead off the inning. Kirsten Caudle laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Bosworth to second base, and Bosworth advanced to third on a passed ball.

Third baseman Talyn Lewis walked and Logan Schaben hit a bunt single to load the bases with one out.

Nychole Antillon drove in the winning run with a ground ball to second base to win the game for Iowa State.

Iowa State is back in action tomorrow at 12 p.m. against Kansas for the second game of the three game series. With one more win this weekend, the Cyclones will qualify for the Big 12 Tournament.
