Former Iowa State forward Royce White has been named Most Valuable Player of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL).

White, who played for Iowa State during the 2011-12 season, led the Cyclones in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and blocks. He was the only player in the country to lead his team in all five major categories.

White elected to forfeit his remaining two years of college eligibility following the 2012 season and was drafted with the 16th pick of the NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets.

Since then, White has bounced around the NBA, the NBA Development League, and the NBL.

White averaged 20.2 points, 10 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game this season for the first-place London Lightning.

In a game against former Cyclone Korie Lucious on April 9, White scored a season-high 35 points and grabbed 17 boards in a four-point win.

White set a new NBL record with four triple doubles during the regular season.
