Ames is one of the cities chosen for a new Fresh Thyme Farmers Market location, a grocer that offers “the spirit of a farmers market, the convenience of a neighborhood store and the nutritious offerings of a natural food marketplace.”

The company has recently opened locations in Omaha, Nebraska and Indianapolis, Indiana, among others, with plans to expand to 10 other cities this year. The Ames location is currently slated for 2018.

Fresh Thyme already has 50 grocers across the Midwest, including locations in West Des Moines and Davenport, Iowa.

Fresh Thyme offers healthy, organic produce, a meat counter, earth-friendly cleaning supplies, supplements, gluten-free and dairy-free options, according to their website.
