Punk band The Dig coming to the M-Shop

The rock-punk band The Dig will be performing at the Maintenance Shop at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29 with opener Doctor Murdock.

The Dig is a four man band formed by childhood friends who began performing together as children. It consists of frontmen Emile Mosseri and David Baldwin on the bass and guitar, respectively. It also features guitarist/keyboardist Erick Eiser and drummer Mark Demiglio.

In 2010 the band released their first album, Electric Toys, and followed it with Midnight Flowers in 2012. Most recently, they released two EPs in 2013, Tired Hearts and You & I.

They’ve recently performed with bands such as The Lumineers and The Antlers.

Their style can be described as punk rock with a heavy emphasis on synth-electronic. They can be compared to Young the Giant and Kings of Leon.

Opening for The Dig will be Doctor Murdock, who are a three-man indie band from Ames.
