Ames firefighters rescued a man from his vehicle after it fell through the ice at a lake in Ada Hayden park Monday afternoon, according to police.

According to Ames Police Cmdr. Geoff Huff, the vehicle fell through the ice at a shallow spot near the boat ramps. The man was taken to the hospital after rescue crews pulled him and his vehicle out of the frigid water.
No injuries were reported.
Police do not expect to file criminal charges, however they are still investigating whether or not the man was impaired at the time of the incident.
