Police searching for suspects in armed robbery

Police are searching for two suspects in an armed robbery Tuesday evening.
The robbery was reported to have occurred on 24th Street at about 6:40 p.m., according to the Ames Police Department.
The victim said he had pulled his car into a parking lot when two white males in a red two-door car with black rims pulled in behind him. Police said the vehicle is believed to be a late 90s Honda Civic or a similar vehicle.
When the victim exited his vehicle, one of the suspects did as well and pulled a gun from his waistband before taking the victim’s wallet, police said.
The suspect is described as a white male, around 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, a thin build and short hair. At the time of the robbery, the victim reported the suspect as wearing a black jacket, dark blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
The other suspect, who remained in the car, is believed to be a white male with short hair.
