Here is what was trending on Twitter in the United States this week:

#envelopegate – This hashtag was trending after the Oscars, which took place Sunday evening. There was a mix-up between envelopes, and “La La Land” was announced for “Best Picture,” but it should have been “Moonlight.” Many people went to Twitter to share their comical thoughts and reviews of the evening.

#SportsARomCom – People went to Twitter to share comical titles of romantic comedy movies with a sports twist. This hashtag was trending with more than 2,000 tweets on Monday evening.

#SpringIn5Words – With the spring season only 19 days away, people went to Twitter to share how they would describe “spring in five words.” This hashtag was trending with almost 7,000 tweets on Wednesday morning.

#IFindMyStrengthIn – Many people went to Twitter to share some positivity and to express where they find their strength in today’s world, which seems to be full of a lot of negativity.

“David Ross” – David Ross, former catcher for the Chicago Cubs, was trending after it was announced that he would be dancing with professional dancer Lindsay Arnold on “Dancing with the Stars,” which will begin March 20. Ross was trending with almost 2,000 tweets not long after the announcement was made Wednesday morning.

#YellowRanger – This hashtag was trending in support of the “Thirst Project,” which is a leading youth water organization. Every time someone tweeted with the hashtag #BlueRanger, #YellowRanger, #RedRanger, #PinkRanger or #BlackRanger a donation toward supplying clean water was made. This hashtag was trending with almost 5,000 tweets.

#greenlight – This hashtag was trending after the release of Lorde’s new single “Green Light.” This single will be a part of her new album “Melodrama.” People, including Lorde herself, went to Twitter to share their excitement and gratitude for the new single.

#LentAFilm – After the first day of Lent, people went to Twitter to share funny names of potential movies that included aspects of Lent in them. This hashtag was trending with almost 1,500 tweets.
