How to avoid those Valentine’s Day blues
February 5, 2017
As we have gotten older, Valentine’s Day has transformed from a classroom holiday to one that is exclusively celebrated by those who are in relationships.
To avoid feeling alone, follow these guidelines to make the most out of this hallmark holiday.
Plan an event with your single friends.
Gather all of your friends and make a plan to enjoy each other’s company over dinner and a movie. Who needs a partner when you have friends?
Treat yo’ self.
Bake cookies, eat a box of chocolate or buy yourself a bouquet of flowers.
Give valentines to your friends.
Everyone loves gifts, so take advantage of this greeting card holiday and show your friends how much you care about them with a thoughtful card and chocolate.
Avoid romantic comedies.
Even though you are strong and independent doesn’t mean you don’t have feelings. Avoid sappy films to maintain a positive outlook.
The club can still go up on a Tuesday.
Just because it’s a school night doesn’t mean the bars aren’t open for business. Spend the night having fun with your friends to keep your mind off the holiday.
