The Cyclones have seen a range of emotions in the past week. After grabbing one of its best road victories in program history against Kansas last weekend, Iowa State fell against an underwhelming Texas on Tuesday night.

Iowa State went back to riding high Saturday night.

The Cyclones (15-9, 7-5 Big 12) comfortably beat Oklahoma (8-16, 2-10 Big 12) 80-64 at Hilton Coliseum on Saturday night, securing their biggest margin of victory in Big 12 play this season.

Iowa State’s early-game woes were nowhere to be found. The Cyclones jumped out to a 15-9 lead thanks to a good shooting performance across the board. The entire starting lineup — which including freshman Solomon Young for the first time this season — contributed in the first three minutes of the game.

Oklahoma came roaring back, though, over halfway through the first half. The Sooners took advantage of six straight Iowa State misses to go on a 7-0 run and pull ahead 29-28.

The Cyclones came out of the final media timeout and finished the half on a 10-0 run to go into the locker room up 38-29.

The Sooners came out strong out of the half and tied the game at 41 just four minutes into the last 20 minutes. But Iowa State took off from there, going on a 15-2 run to grab a double-digit lead and pull away from the Sooners.
