Assistant Vice President – Chief of Police open forum

Michael Newton will be interviewing at the open forum for assistant vice president–chief of police from 2:50 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. Friday at 1310 Beyer Hall.
Newton has over 18 years of experience in law enforcement and is the captain of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department.
The assistant vice president–chief of police (AVP-COP) directs the operations of the university’s Department of Public Safety, including University Police and Parking Services.
The successful candidate will oversee investigations, emergency planning and management, training, threat assessment and response and parking services, according to the university services.
The next open forum for assistant vice president–chief of police that was scheduled to take place Monday has been postponed due to a family emergency and will be rescheduled for a later date.
