Former Iowa State employee accused of taking $68,000 in university funds – Pamela Backstrom, an employee at the Iowa State research center, may be accused of more than one crime involving this case, but the official announcement will be made next week once the investigation is finished.
- Information released on Leath’s plane use for doctor visits – Revised information on Leath’s plane use was recently released. Inaccurate information regarding the dates that the plane had been used was originally released by Megan Landolt, spokeswoman for the Associated Press, but was corrected by Landolt on Thursday.
- Iowa State gymnastics team loses to No. 1 Oklahoma but records its best score of the year – The Cyclones focused more on the opponent rather than their scores this week, but they still managed to beat their previous season-high score. Although they lost, they performed very well against the No. 1 team in the country and made huge progress this week.
- Wrestling loses against No. 15 Oklahoma – The Cyclones started out the night with multiple losses and were never able to turn their performance around against No. 15 Oklahoma. The team ultimately lost 30-12 in a blowout against the Sooners.
Saturday- 1/28
- No. 10 Cyclone Hockey beats No. 5 Robert Morris – The second half of the match was where all of the action happened. The game was forced into overtime, where a huge shootout took place and ultimately led the Cyclones to a win, beating the Eagles 3-2.
- Men’s basketball loses against Vanderbilt in the Big 12-SEC Challenge – The Cyclones traveled to Nashville for the Big 12-SEC Challenge on Saturday afternoon. The game was tied at the half, but the Cyclones couldn’t hold on, losing 84-78.
- Women’s basketball beats TCU after overcoming an early struggle – The Cyclones pulled out a Big 12 win against TCU after a long first quarter of shooting only 13.6 percent. The women fought to the very last minute and pulled out a win, beating TCU 72-69.
