What you need to know about the upcoming Dance Marathon event

The Iowa State Dance Marathon is an annual philanthropy event which benefits the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. The dance marathon has a special three letter abbreviation “FTK” meaning For The Kids.

Dance Marathon is this weekend and here are all of the things you need to know about the event:

  • Dance Marathon begins 7 p.m. Friday in the Memorial Union and goes through Saturday evening.

  • Dance Marathon is an event that helps raise money for the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.

  • There will be many different performances during the event including DubH, Shy of a Dozen, a hypnotist and other activities.

  • There will be a lot of dancing through the whole event, but no one is required to dance the whole time. Also, no caffeine is allowed.

  • Each dancer had to raise $250 to be eligible to participate in the event.

  • The amount of money that Iowa State Dance Marathon raises will be announced during the event.

  • The money that Dance Marathon raises goes to families of children that have a child who has been diagnosed but doesn’t have the money to pay for the medical bills.

  • This will be Dance Marathon’s 20th year at Iowa State.
