Iowa State softball’s game against in-state rival Iowa (12-30, 2-11 Big Ten) has been postponed to next Wednesday because of the prospect of bad weather.

The Cyclones were set to take on the Hawkeyes in Ames at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will be made up on April 27 and the start time will be determined at a later date.

The softball game marks the final addition to the 2015-2016 Iowa Corn CyHawk series and is the deciding factor in which university brings home the CyHawk Series Trophy.

The Hawkeyes lead the series 12-10.

If Iowa State wins against Iowa the CyHawk series would end in a 12-point tie. Iowa State, being the previous year’s winner, would keep the trophy in the event of a tie.

An Iowa State win would also mark the third straight year that Iowa State will have taken the CyHawk Series Trophy back to Ames.
