ISU women’s distance runners led the Cyclones at the Stanford Invitational and San Francisco State Distance Carnival on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, redshirt sophomore Erin Hooker ran nearly 90 seconds faster than her previous personal best in the 10,000-meter run at the Stanford Invitational, finishing 11th in her section with a 34:00.92 time. Jasmine Staebler, who ran in her first event longer than 800 meters outdoors, and junior Maryn Lowry both recorded personal records in the 1,500-meter run.
ISU middle distance runners shined at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on Friday. Redshirt junior Maddie Nagle and freshman Erinn Stenman-Fahey finished 1-2 in section five of the 1,500-meter run. They clocked personal-best times in the event, with Nagle running a 4:32.35 and Stenman-Fahey running a 4:33.35.
ISU senior hurdler Alyssa Gonzalez broke the San Francisco State Distance Carnival meet record in the 400-meter hurdles on Saturday, finishing first in 1:01.05.
