This Saturday is the Cyclone Gridiron Spring football game. Fans, players and coaches are expecting big things for the team this year with new coach Matt Campbell.

The Spring game, is a look at the football team, which gives people an idea of what to expect from the Iowa State Football team this day.

Here’s what fans, students and alumni have to say about what they look forward to see most this year from ISU.

“I expect big things this year. From being part of the program a year ago as an intern and seeing the players grow more and be coach under a new era by Coach Campbell, I can tell these guys are ready to start off the right way.” Beau Bjorland, Sophomore, Kinesiology and Health

“I expect great things, as always from the Cyclones. With a new coach that has a good record, I’m sure we’ll have a good season!” Jessica Graham, Management, Senior

“I think we’ll see an offense that truly hits its stride this season. Our receiving core is experienced and talented. With Mike Warren at running back, we have a balanced offense that can sustain long drives to rest a defense that lost key players from last season. If the the defense can grow together in a hurry and play fundamentally sound football, this team has a great chance to win 6 or 7 games this season.” Ryan Christensen, ISU Alumni, Class of 2011

“I expect a lot of rebuilding to happen, especially on the offensive side of the field. It’ll be exciting to see what Coach Campbell brings to the table this year.” Cheyenne Vinsick, Junior, Psychology

“Although there’s a new coach and the team has some rebuilding to do, I expect them to be competitive this year.” Lauren Holmes, ISU Alumni, Class of 2013
