It seems like when it comes to reading for fun, people have different opinions. Whether they love it or hate it, reading outside of school work can be a beneficial for all. It doesn’t just have to be a book, it can be an article that you found from Facebook or the newspaper that you eventually forget about, either way it helps you in the long run.

There are many reasons why reading is so important for everyone to do, including exposing yourself to new ideas. This is one of the best takeaways from reading and helps you in many different ways. This will help with showing you new ideas, information, and activities. It will help open your mind to something that you hadn’t thought of before and it will show you different ways to understand and achieve what you have or haven’t thought of. Reading will help get you thinking about something that you normally wouldn’t of thought about, which could lead to so many more possibilities.

Another great thing that comes from reading is the improvement of imagination and creativity. When coming to college, with all the studying and homework, sometimes imagination can go straight out the door. Reading helps with that and exposes you to new angles about certain situations and on how different actions can result in a different outcomes. Books or any reading material is a different voice on a given subject that shows you a different perspective, one that you may never would’ve thought of.

Even if you really dislike reading, you should be highly encourage you to try it. Start with something small, like an article online, and eventually start reading books about whatever you like. That’s another great thing about books, just like television shows, books come in all different genres and it’s easy to find something that suits you. Overall, reading is a great activity that can be fun and beneficial in many ways. Even though it may not be everyone’s favorite hobby, it will help in ways that you won’t always notice and never think of. So, try picking up that book that you started last summer, or Google something that interests you online to learn something new.
