The Cyclone tennis team (10-2, 0-0 Big 12) was in Jonesboro, Ark., on Thursday morning where it won 7-0 against the Arkansas State Red Wolves (0-8, 0-0 Sun Belt).

This duel was set to be played outdoors, but due to unfortunate weather circumstances, it was moved to an indoor facility, at the RidgePoint Country Club. This turn of events would be in favor of ISU who hasn’t had a chance to play against the outdoor elements in over two months.

So, inside the comfort of the walls, the Cyclones go right back to business, and didn’t look back.

Jumping right into action, the Cyclones went to work securing the doubles point. It was the pairing of Samantha Budi and Liza Buss who would get it started for ISU with a 6-0 victory they rapidly put away Julia Gauguery and Victoria Roberts.

Then again the dynamic senior, freshman duo of Alejandra Galvis and Annabella Bonadonna would follow to clinch the doubles point for the Cyclones. They defeated Sofia Krsmanovic and Victoria Pisani 6-3.

WIth the doubles point in the bag for the Cyclones, they had momentum going into the single matches. Anna Kuuttila earned the first singles point for ISU defeating Chiara Stefan 6-0, 6-1. Galvis was right behind her adding another win to her season campaign with a 8-6 victory over Sabrina Jeresic. Then Buss would also secure a win and a team point in defeating Victoria Roberts 6-0

Still on the road, the Cyclones return to action on Saturday in Memphis, Tenn. There they will face the Memphis Tigers (9-1, 0-0 AAC).
