Upcoming performances at Des Moines Civic Center

From shows featuring beloved childhood characters to live Irish dancing, the Des Moines Civic Center is offering a variety of shows to audiences this year.
Here is a lineup of upcoming performances this season:
Peppa Pig LIVE : March 16
The first national live tour Peppa Pig LIVE is based off of the popular show on Nick Jr., which primarily targets preschoolers. Tickets start at $32 for seats near the back and are $60 for seating closer to the stage (excluding tax). Performance times are as follows:
March 16: 6:30 p.m.
Riverdance : March 18-20
Des Moines is part of the 20th Anniversary Tour of the hit Irish International group. Through a unique and creative approach using both dance and music, the performers keep the Irish tradition alive in all ages performance.
Tickets range from $45 for seats near the back of the Center and are $112 (both excluding tax) for seating closer to the stage, though tickets near the front are nearly sold out. . Performance times are as follows:
March 18: 7:30 p.m.
March 19: 2:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m.
March 20: 1:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m.
The Cat in the Hat : April 2
The theatrical version of the ever popular Dr. Seuss’s Cat in the Hat is coming to the Civic Center. Through a whimsical live performance, see the Cat, Thing 1 and Thing 2 as well as the Fish and all the antics that ensue.
Tickets are $10 and are almost sold out. Performance times are as follows:
April 2nd: 1:00 p.m.
Annie : April 15-17
A modern version of the American theatrical Annie production is a classic performance for all ages and features a musical score written by Tony Award-winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin.
Tickets range from $30 for aisle seats near the back, $45 for seating along the back of the Center, and $100 for seating closer to the stage (excluding tax).
Performance times are as follows:
April 15: 7:30 p.m.
April 16: 2:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m.
April 17: 1:00 p.m. (sign language interpreted and audio description available), 6:30 p.m.
Sutton Foster in Concert : April 30th
Foster is an award winning actress, writer and dancer. She has also performed in 11 Broadway performances, including Little Women, Shrek the Musical and the Tony Award-winning production Anything Goes among others. Foster has performed at venues such as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
Tickets range from $60 for aisle seats near the back, $80 for seats along the back of the Center, and $250 for a VIP package ticket which is located in the first 15 rows (excluding tax).

April 30: 7:30 p.m.
The Book of Mormon : May 3-8
From the creators of South Park and composed by Oscar winner Bobby Lopez is international hit The Book of Mormon. The play is a comedic story of two missionaries who go around the world to spread the word of God and the adventures that entail.
The New York Times called The Book of Morman “the best musical of this century” and it has also won many Tony Awards.
Note: The show contains explicit language, so children under age 5 will not be allowed.
Tickets range from $40 for aisle seats near the back, $60 for seats in the back of the Center, $75 for seating near the middle of the Center and $130 for seating in the front half of the Center (excluding tax).

May 4: 7:30 p.m.
May 5: 7:30 p.m.
May 6: 7:30 p.m.
May 7: 2:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m.
May 8: 1:00 p.m. (sign language interpreted and audio description available), 6:30 p.m.
