February 24, 2016
A lecture on healthy families and their future will take place on campus Wednesday.
The lecture will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday in 2019 Morrill Hall on campus and will be given by Gregory Duncan.
“[Duncan’s] research focuses on the comparative importance of the skills and behaviors developed during childhood, especially the relative importance of early academic skills, cognitive and emotional self-regulations, and health in promoting children’s success in school and the workforce,” according to the Iowa State events calendar.
Duncan is a distinguished professor in the School of Education at University of California, Irvine.
The lecture is a part of the Helen LeBaron Hilton Endowed Chair Lecture Series. The series is meant to address how family is defined, the current knowledge on healthy families and the future of education.
