For many girls shopping is a beloved activity that can make any day better. Whether it’s clothes, makeup, or décor shopping, it’s fun to pick out new items spontaneously or items that you have been saving up for. Unfortunately we don’t always have the luxury to spend and we have to save our money for other things like rent or food. The next time you go shopping think about these tips to help save you money.

1. Look out for clothing that is dry-clean only. This will save you money in the future because even if you do wear it a few times before you wash it, at the end of the day you will have to pay for dry cleaning.

2. Stay away from clothing similar to what you already have. Even though that black shirt has a cute pocket that your other five don’t have, that does not mean you absolutely need it.

3. Shopping out of season is a great way to save money. I realize that this one can be hard, but it will save you money in the long run and you will already have clothes for the upcoming season without paying the maximum retail price.

4. When shopping for makeup take a trip to Target or Walmart before you go to the mall. Target can be just as good as Sephora, especially when opting for a mascara or foundation. Drugstores also have a lot of good options that won’t break the bank.

5. When looking for home décor it can get really expensive, so try your own DIY’s. There are so many out there and with technology now it’s easy to learn. You can go to YouTube or Pinterest and find many different kinds of DIY’s that you can even create with items that you already own. Other than that it usually takes a trip to a craft store or Target to create cheap but cute decorations for your home.
