Past turnout numbers in Iowa Caucus

It was record turnout for this year’s Republican Caucus, and Democrats had quite the turnout as well.

How do the numbers compare to past caucuses?

Democrats:

  • 2004: 125,000
  • 2008: 220,000
  • 2012: No Caucus
  • 2016: 170,000
Republicans:
  • 2004: No Caucus
  • 2008: 119,200
  • 2012: 121,500
  • 2016: 180,000
