February 17, 2016
For the spring season “The City” star Olivia Palermo has teamed up with Nordstrom to release a line through their private label design group, Chelsea28. In the past Nordstrom has partnered with Sarah Jessica Parker, Jason Wu and Caroline Issa releasing a variety of clothing and accessory lines.
The very versatile clothing hit stores February 8th with 32 pieces of clothing ranging from $68 to $448. The pieces are inspired by Palermo’s street style with a very polished appearance ranging from print dresses to neutral colored, wide legged pants. The emphasis on the line lies on great basics that can be mixed and matched with fun prints or a pop of color. Her line is now available in 94 Nordstrom locations in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
Olivia Palermo first became known through the reality TV show “The City” that aired during 2008 and 2010 on MTV. In the show Palermo worked in the PR department for Diane von Furstenberg and afterwards moved on to work for ELLE Magazine. Since then she has become increasingly more popular in the fashion world through modeling, guest judging and creating her own blog. Even though she has had a wide variety of experiences in the fashion industry throughout the year, her debut as a designer for Nordstrom is a milestone in her career.
Nordstrom has entered into a yearlong partnership with Palermo. Among this collaboration, a lot more pieces to come through the spring and fall seasons, as well as holidays. It is said to be the first one of four collections for the collaboration. The designer already has a large influence through social media with 3.1 million followers on Instagram. This has enabled her to give young fashionistas advice on how to style outfits or inform them on which staple pieces to add to their wardrobe.
This new Nordstrom line is a great way to add strong staple pieces to a spring closet to begin the season off in style this year. It is a reasonably priced collection that is perfect to buy those timeless pieces that can be coordinated with future fashion trends. This collection offers trendy pieces for everyone looking to add some versatility to their closet.
