How music affects your mood
February 17, 2016
There are only a few things on this planet that are recognized and enjoyed universally and one of those things is music. I have yet to meet a person who isn’t tickled pink by a quality mixture of lyrics and melodies, and there’s a reason for that: music affects our mood.
I think we can all agree that there is nothing quite as magical as hearing a song that not only pleases your ears, but pleases your mind and soul. This can be through the message it communicates or through the beautiful sounds created by the combination of instruments. Either way, music can have an affect on the mood we’re in.
Different music existing for different situations in our lives is a no brainer. You can find endless playlists devoted to depicting any possible mood you could have in any situation on streaming apps such as Spotify, Pandora, and AppleMusic. And yes, it’s true that we pick music to fit alongside the mood we are in, but more often than not, the music you listen to will change your mood.
The right compilation of rhythms and tones can lift your spirits or can simply reinforce the mood that you’re in, and in turn, the quality of your life will increase. Because of this simple fact, music has been used as a type of therapy by professionals.
Listen to whatever your favorite genre is, listen to your favorite artist, or listen to a good group of songs of various genres and creators! Listen to whatever it is that will make you feel happy. Crank it up or keep it down, it’s all up to you. Music can be the best cure to whatever ails you and, since it’s readily available online, will be the cheapest and quickest therapy you can get.
After being accompanied by uplifting music on a good chillout, a long walk, or a quick cruise in your car, you will feel immediately more energized and your mood will be boosted. And what more could you ask for from a form of entertainment than that?
